Gift of Giving History

2012

During the Holy Month of Ramadan, Action Care conducted 11 Iftar events for orphans, individuals with special needs and  underprivileged children and families throughout the UAE.

 

Over 500 beneficiaries enjoyed an evening of games, drama, art activities, facepainting, balloons, delicious food, and gifts.

 

This year’s highlight was a Ramadan-themed play titled “The Three Empty Sacks”. The drama was  accompanied by an exciting and interactive art competition.

 

Many thanks to the many partners and volunteers who made these events possible and gave hundreds of children a memorable Ramadan.
 

2011

In August 2011, sixteen Gift of Giving Ramadan programs were conducted in the UAE. These programs benefitted over 720 underprivileged children.

  • Gift of Giving program conducted for children under the care of Dar Zayed for Family Care
  • Five Gift of Giving programs conducted for underprivileged children in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, in cooperation with the Red Crescent Society
  • Three Gift of Giving programs conducted in for children and families in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, in cooperation with Al Ihsan Charity Center
  • Three Gift of Giving programs conducted for children in Dubai, Fujairah, and Ras al-Khaimah in cooperation with the Beit Al Khair Society
  • Two Gift of Giving programs conducted for children and young people at the Senses Care Home, Dubai
  • Two Gift of Giving Ramadan programs conducted for families of children and youth with special needs in Dubai, in cooperation with Special Needs Families

2010

From August to September of 2010, six Gift of Giving Ramadan programs were conducted throughout the UAE. Over 350 underprivileged children benefitted from these events.

  • Gift of Giving program conducted for underprivileged children in Ajman, in cooperation with the Al Ihsan Charity Center
  • Gift of Giving program conducted for children under the care of Dar Zayed for Family Care, Al Ain
  • Gift of Giving program conducted for children in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Red Crescent Society
  • Two Gift of Giving programs conducted for children in Dubai, in cooperation with the Beit Al Khair Society
  • Gift of Giving program conducted for children patients at the Thalassemia Center in Dubai

2009

From August to September of 2009, sixteen Gift of Giving Ramadan programs were conducted throughout MENASA region. Over 570 underprivileged children benefitted from these events.

  • Gift of Giving program conducted in Al Ain, for children under the care of Dar Zayed for Family Care
  • Gift of Giving program conducted in Sharjah, for children under the care of Sharjah Charity International
  • Gift of Giving program conducted in Dubai, for children under the care of Beit Al Khair Society
  • Gift of Giving program conducted in Abu Dhabi, for children with special needs from the Special Care Centre
  • Gift of Giving program conducted for children in Ras Al Khaimeh, in cooperation with the Beit Al Khair Society

 

Get Involved

The MOVE program gives us ideas about our future. We learned how to make CVs and list our key skills, languages and experience, and how to be confident at job interviews. The trainers inspired us to try — to study hard and work and we can be professionals.
